Christmas Lunch
A different venue this year, the Cliffs Bandstand. The food was good as was the service. However, Christmas dinner on Southend seafront just didn't seem right.
Well done to Claire, who was the youngest one there, who managed to pick her own raffle ticket out of the hat and win the Teddy.
A Day At The Races
As you can see from the pictures we were lucky yet again with the weather. A bright and warm summers day (one of the few).

When we arrived and parked up out came the picnic lunch and refreshments. Some were even chatted to by a Channel 4 film crew.
Suitable refreshed we went in for the races. Most had there spot picked out from last year and we all settled down for the races.
Frankie Dettori had entered for two races, his first since the accident, and won both.
After the meeting it was back to the coach for tea, including, fresh melon, strawberries and cream, and a selection of cakes. Then it was all-aboard and home to Thurrock.
There were some winners and losers on the day but everyone enjoyed themselves and those involved with the arrangements received letters of thanks.
