Turkey and Tinsel
We all arrived on Christmas Eve (Friday) full of anticipation. Just think a whole Christmas and New Year condensed into weekend !
Friday night was quiet as we were all excited and were going to bed early. Although some had forgotten to bring their stocking.
After a frosty night we all awoke on Christmas morning (Saturday) raring to go. A lot of our group were up to the challenges and most competitions had one of our members having a try.
In the Table Tennis Marilyn beat husband Frank and later Richard in hard fought games to become the overall winner.

Frank got his revenge shortly after by winning the Fun Darts.
Overall the food was fine although at Christmas dinner Frank ordered the speciality ice cream and thought there was a stain at the bottom of his dish!
Most spent the evening watching the entertainment and discussing what tournaments they were going in on News Years Eve (Sunday).
Archery was the first major competition of the day and was won by Rob 'Cupid' B with a score of 46. Although others of the group had a go he was the Robin Hood.

Richard '2Bulls' winning with a
score of 26.
Amongst other competitions we showed we could stand the pace. Margaret and Rob L won the Dominoes by default. As the only two entering, they decided they were the joint winners. To celebrate they ran a table skittles competition but were dissapointed when Joyce 'Never Played Before', beat them.
We were piped into
the dining room for our New Years Eve dinner, our tables awash with hats, flags and do-it-yourself blow up balloons. |

The New Year was brought in (at 11.30pm) with a touch of the Last Night of the Proms and, of course, Auld Lang Syne.
Finally on New Years Day (also known as Monday) we all departed for home, for a rest!
