Christmas Dinner 2003

We were again at the Shell Club for our Christmas dinner this year. There were 36 members waiting in anticipation for their dinner. Overall the food was good and well presented with perhaps a couple of hiccups (?).

Following the dinner, the Photo Competition prize of a bottle of scotch was presented to Lynette, who won with a picture of her nephew. Thank you to all the members who put in entries.

We also had our Whisky bottle challenge, due to inflation it was 20p pieces that were tossed to find out who was the best shot. Many tried, but it was the accuracy of Marilyn that won the prize. Considering they were tossing 20p pieces, we collected, from round the bottle, a total of £20.05p!!!

Thanks must go to Darren for going into the main bar to sell raffle tickets that brought the amount collected up to £158. He had however, to go back in the bar to find the owners of some of the winning tickets. Although there was not any dancing this year our thanks go to the DJ for his work.

Joyce brought a selection of 16 "Guess the Contents" bags, and we all scratched our heads over her devious selection of contents.

Unfortunately Richard had to leave before the end but he did give thanks to all for their efforts in making the occasion successful.
